Cooper Webb gets his 1st win on the new 2023 generation KTM 450 SX-F!
Cooper Webb passed Chase Sexton late in race 3 of the AMA Supercross Triple Crown Race in Arlington Texas Saturday night! Webb’s win in the third race of the night, giving him a 5-2-1, was what was needed for his second win of the season.
“You never know in racing,” Webb told NBC Sports’ Will Christien. “I didn’t put myself in a good position at the start. I made a mistake in the rhythm section that cost me something. The track was really tricky, you couldn’t catch up if you tried to push properly. Underneath it was quite angular and smooth.”
None of the three podium finishers drove perfect races. Webb’s slow start to Race 1 put him deep in the field and with a fifth place finish he had a lot of ground to make up.
Sexton was third in the first two races and was poised to take the overall win until lapped traffic came into play.
Eli Tomac won Race 1 and said afterwards: “I like coming out of these Triple Crown events with momentum. I got the perfect start there and eventually swept into that corner and then did my own race.”
