All crate engines supplied through this program are the KTM variant of the engine, regardless of which brand's bike you're installing it in. KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas share the same core engine architecture across equivalent model years and displacements — fitment and internal specifications are identical.
Because these are KTM-branded units, certain external components may differ cosmetically from what originally came in your Husqvarna or GasGas. The most common example is the clutch cover, which may be KTM orange rather than Husqvarna white or GasGas red. Functional engine components, mounting points, output shafts, and all internal specifications remain the same.
Example: A Husqvarna FC 450 owner will receive a KTM 450 SX-F engine. The clutch cover and any externally branded covers will be KTM orange — everything else bolts in identically and runs exactly the same.
Some two-stroke engines may also ship with the complete clutch output / master cylinder system installed. This varies by unit and is not guaranteed.
