INTAKE and EXHAUST VALVES VALVE SPRING KITS Black Diamond™ Valves: All KPMI® Black Diamond™ stainless steel valves are impregnated by a special German process to a depth of .002”, with a surface build up of .0002”. This “Black Diamond™” process improves wear properties, reduces friction, and provides resistance to corrosion and wear that is superior to chrome and nickel electrolysis plating. Each valve is designed using Finite Element Analysis software, and profiles are tested on our computerized flow bench. Black Diamond™ Valves are lightweight, strong, one piece forgings with profiles that provide excellent flow characteristics. White Diamond® Valves: We fully CNC machine our White Diamond® Valves from a one-piece forging of either EV8 Stainless Steel or Inconel-751.These materials have proven heat and corrosion resistance properties. Each valve is designed using Finite Element Analysis software, and profiles are tested on our computerized flow bench. Strict attention is paid to the surface preparation of the valves, and the purity of the chrome is closely monitored. A 360 degree anode is used to produce the highest possible grade of hard chrome finish. White Diamond® Valves are light, strong, one piece forgings with profiles that provide excellent flow characteristics. KPMI® Tensilite® Titanium Valves All KPMI® titanium valves are one piece forgings manufactured from solid U.S. milled 6-2-4-2 or 6AL4V titanium bar. These are the latest developments in titanium valve alloys and have superior strength and thermal characteristics when compared to other titanium valve alloys. The titanium bar is cut, and hot forged into shape. While the forging is still hot, the valve stem is pulled to cross-sectionally reduce it. This forging process produces consistently superior grain flow and directional strength, as well as extremely uniform response to the critical heat treatment process necessary to create durable titanium valves when compared to other manufacturing processes. After all final grinding and machining is completed, the valve is encased in a hard chromium nitride (CRN) shell. CRN offers excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, and corrosion. These qualities along with its low coefficient of friction and excellent adhesion to titanium make CRN the coating of choice for high performance titanium valves. We have tested these valves in the lab and on the track. They have proven themselves time after time in many high-demand applications, from a dual stage nitrous engine, to 14,000RPM applications. KPMI® Valves Springs: KPMI® valve spring are wound from Premium Kobe Super-Clean Chrome Silicon wire. KPMI® valve springs are heat-treated, stress relieved, and shot peened to insure maximum performance and life. Springs are engineered for each specific application using proprietary advanced spring design simulation, and analysis software. Engineers pay special attention to cam and spring harmonics, stress, mass, and operating rpm.
