Tips for First Time SXS Owners
Tips for a first time sxs owner!
You just bought your first ATV or SXS, as exciting as it is to just get in and go there are a couple things you need to know before leaving. Before turning the key for the first time, make sure that you know the local laws and regulations that pertains to speed limit, where they can be ridden, and other rules that could keep you off the trails. Some places do require that you wear a helmet at all times so that is something to remember as well. Just like any other vehicle you need to make sure that you inspect your machine before leaving. Check your tires, the tire pressure, oil, and overall state of the machine so you don’t get stranded in the middle of nowhere. When you purchase your side by side it will come with an operator’s guide that contains a check list for you if you don’t know where to start. Even though they are built to protect you as much as possible, safety is still a very important part of the SXS world. You want to make sure that you have a safe and comfortable seating position as that will help throughout the experience and it also gives you the ability to shift your weight in the case of an emergency. There are different terrain levels that will take some skill and practice to achieve. Before you go into something insane, you need to make sure that you have a toolbox of skills ready to take on any condition mother nature throws at you. Maintenance is also important, so make sure that you change your oil and keep basic maintenance up to date with your machine. If you have any questions about your new machine, feel free to ask your sales associate, or call our customer service representatives and we would be happy to help.
