Finding the perfect tires for your Can-am!

The 3 main types of tires you can put on your SXS!
Finding the perfect tires for your Can-am!

When it comes to SXS, tires are essential to the amount of capability that they have. Picking the perfect tire can be difficult with the various brands, sizes, tread types, etc.- that’s where we come in. There are 3 main types of tires -mud, sand, and rock- to choose from when it comes to SXS and it’s based on the type of riding you plan on doing. Mud tires are specifically made for you guessed it, mud! If you are constantly going through big mud sections, in a swamp-type area, or in bogs a lot this tire is perfect for you. The treads are designed to make going through any muddy terrain a breeze. Sand/Dune tires are on the other end of the spectrum. They are designed in such a way that the rear tires have these “paddles” on them to be able to get into the sand and create traction. The front wheels have a very specific tread pattern as well that makes flying through the sand like nothing you have ever experienced before. Lastly, rock tires are made for your “all-terrain” type ride or if you are rock crawling specifically they are designed for that as well. They have a softer tread pattern which makes it easier to grip onto those rocks and make sure that your machine doesn’t slide when crawling.

You have to be careful when upgrading your machine because some models may not be able to handle certain types of tires or size of tires. If you are unsure about sizing make sure to ask someone before purchasing! Tires are an important upgrade that everyone needs to install on their machines. Even though we have only discussed 3 types, there are plenty of others you can choose from. All is based on the type of riding you are looking to perform and the handle you want to have over your machine.
