Paired with the sand cover and oiled filter this thing is perfect! If you like low maintenance, this is what you’re looking for.

I bought this and used it for a super dusty hare scramble in CO on our KTM 150 XC-W and SX. Worked better than a filter skin IMHO because you can oil this lightly and itll suspend dust throughout the filter allowing air to still flow well unlike an oiled filter skin which just cakes up in one layer. My strategy was to oil this filter lightly and allow some dust to work thru to the real filter. From there I oiled the regular Twin-Air from the _inside_. That way I had increasing layers of oil which seemed to me to work like water filtration... trap the big stuff farther away then more and finally the most aggressive filtration at the end.

Thick prefilter yet course enough to allow proper air flow. Works awesome in super dry dusty conditions to not stain and ruin the pre oiled filter.

I\ve run these for years on my bikes and they work fantastic. There\s many ways to set them up but I\ve always run them dry right over an regularly oiled filter (can also lightly oil them too). Some advantages: 1) Prevents a lot of dust getting to normal filter. 2) Prevents trail trash (sticks mud etc.) from getting stuck on filter. 3) Greatly extends life of normal filters. 4) Super easy to clean (throw it in cleaner after done with normal filters). 5) Durable (I\ve used a one for 100 hours with no sign of deterioration). 6) Doesn\t seem to effect engine performance/responsiveness like you\d think.
Pros: Durable|Protection|Extended Cleaning Intervals|Minor Effect on Performance
Cons: One extra thing to clean
