I have a 2020 701 Enduro and put this on with I re-sprung my shock while I had it out. These are made by X-Trig and they have two models for the 690/701, but only their KTM version has an "internal" hex keyed adjustment nut. The non KTM version it is an external post style nut. The significance of this is that it is a very tight fit for the shock on the 690/701 due to the fuel tank. As such it is difficult to get the shock in place and align the adjustment part between the frame on the right side of the bike so you can reach the nut. With the external x-trig version some guys say it is virtually impossible because that external post cannot swing past the frame. But this KTM version fixes that with the internal version.
Look at the pictures of the regular X-Trig adjuster at their website to see what I mean. But if you have a 690/701, this is the version you want.
Now I can adjust my preload easily before I set out on a big trip with all my luggage cross country vs when I'm going light.
Pros: Factory KTM socket wrench fits inside to adjust so no need for a seperate tool
Cons: Pricey and a tight fit to install
Recommended: Yes

These were on back order for a while, but I recently bought one and put the preload adjuster on my 21' 690R.
Very nice quality and I think they are made by Xtrig, but not sure. I use soft bags from time to time and like to easily be able to add or subtract more preload to my shock to support the extra weight, then easily take it off again. This makes preload adjustments easy so now I will be more likely to use this feature on my bike for proper suspension set up.
I located the adjuster screw on the right side, peaking out the small triangle in the trellis frame above the foot peg. The left side has the exhaust pipe in the way. Works great! I turn it by hand with an 8mm socket, using a speed handle or
t-handle. I don't recommend the use of any kind of impact wrench on the adjuster, as it will wear the adjuster nut faster and could eventually cause internal damage.
There are handy lines marked on the
anti-rotation post for referencing spring compression positions. Get one.
Pros: Super easy adjustment of shock preload!
Cons: Kinda pricey..

Ordered for my 22 SMC R, installed along with a heavier spring as I was to heavy for stock stuff. Relatively easy to install but time consuming, especially trying to figure out the proper angle where you will be able to access the adjuster. Much more functional than the factory plastic preload collar that you can't easily access. Does require a spring compressor to install, but otherwise very straight forward
Pros: Easy suspension adjustment
Cons: Time consuming to install
