It was square - not rectangular. Because of that I installed it on my 1190 and moved my 1190 rectangular rack to my 890. It's nice, just not as large as I prefer. Many say it does not fit the 890, but it fits fine. Maybe because there are no instructions they did not figure out that you have to eliminate the factory rack and only use the passenger grip handles. YOu can eliminate them and install it without them if you use the included spacers.
Pros: Simple, effective, lightweight and sturdy.
Cons: Not very large.

Got this for my 2021 KTM 890 S. Was pretty frustrated when it didn't fit. It fits ALL these other bikes, but doesn't fit the 790/890?? Horrible marketing. I had to drill holes and do extreme mods in order for it to work. Which it does. It works, and looks rather nice... Worth the effort...? Hopefully, because it's not cheap. Wish I could post pics.
Pros: Looks good, solid, versatile and functional.
Cons: Doesn't fit popular models!, Major mods required. Pricy

Advertised as fitting the 790 Adventure. Bought it and of the umpteen mounting holes none are even close to where they need to be for a 2020 790. Cant drill new holes because two of them would need to be where the metal is creased. Now get the joy and expense of returning it.
