This seat is a step above and then some for use of my 2020 SAS on straight touring. It’s slightly flatter and raise surface with a softer foam accomplishes a lot of things. First itt removes the negative can’t of the seat constantly sliding you forward under breaking. The flatter profile supplies more even pressure distribution which in turn allows one to ride longer without encountering pain . Pain basically caused by restriction of blood flow in the area. The stock seat is better for off-road and dual sport applications where one is constantly shifting and moving around the seat. But when highway miles are encountered those pluses turn their ugly side to you. Off road and dual sports the stock seat is better. Highway miles this ergo seat is a vast improvement over stock. Road this 1,800 miles out and 1,800 back from Sturgis this year. This seat made it doable. With stock seat it would have been a lot of discomfort and pain.
Pros: Great for use cruising or eating up pavement on highways
Cons: For Dual sport and off road prefer stock seat
Recommended: Absolutely if you doing a lot of highway or just straight cruising miles

OEM seat made my bum fall asleep in 50 miles. This one allows me to ride a 100-125 before feeling the need to stand in the pegs. Worthy upgrade. Thought about getting the heated version but that 1290 puts off enough heat on its very own. Ha!

It is a lot better then stock. Stock starts hurting between 1-2 hours. This one starts between 4-5 hours. But for the price it is the best seat upgrade. The height difference at first is noticeable but after long rides it is no longer noticeable.
